PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and properly use a plurality of processing functions installed in a portable terminals or many stored files for official purposes and private purposes. SOLUTION: When an office arrival signal is detected by a non-contact IC part 6 as a telephone number mode, a CPU 13 selects an official mode; and when an office departure signal is detected, a private mode is selected. Applications, allowed to be used in the present telephone number mode and applications that are not to be used in the present telephone number mode are displayed discriminatably on an application menu, in accordance with an effective mode added to each application. When a file is selected, only a file agreeing with the present telephone number mode can be selected, in accordance with a mode identifier added to the file or a holder sort in which the file is stored.
