PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental curing light having a device body efficiently conducting heat away from a light-emitting diode part of a curing light.SOLUTION: A device body 102 includes a gripping proximal end 106 and a head-side distal end 110. The device body is formed of a thermal conductivity body material. Excellent heat conduction in a direction away from an LED die is provided by using a thermal conduction layer disposed on the device body. The thermal conduction layer is functioned as a conduit to quickly conduct the heat in the direction away from the LED die and dissipate it in the material of the device body. The material of the device body thus functions as a highly efficient heat dissipator. A surface area for connecting the thermal conduction layer to the device body is sufficiently large, so that, during the operation of the device, most of the heat conducted by the thermal conduction layer is transmitted to the device body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
