PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus and a coating method which can reduce unevenness of a thickness of a coating material layer.SOLUTION: A coating apparatus includes a support roll 55 which conveys a band-like metal foil 16, a coating part 50 which coats the band-like metal foil 16 with an active material slurry 51 to form an active material layer 17, a control part which identifies a shape of the active material layer 17, a second temperature-controlling part 60 which controls a temperature of the active material layer 17. The control part controls the second temperature-controlling part 60 so as to reduce a difference between thicknesses of end parts 17a, 17b of the active material layer 17 and thicknesses of other parts of the active material layer 17 based on an identification result by itself.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
