A fastener, suitable for a bra or similar garment, comprises a first component 10 and a flexible second component 12. The first component 10 has an engagement portion (16, figure 1) extending therefrom, and the second component has at least one opening 30, in a backsheet 40. In use, the slotted aperture 30 receives the D-shaped hook member of the engagement portion to fasten the garment. The application also describes a method of manufacturing the garment fastener comprising the steps of forming the first and second components and securing, by stitching 32, the first component 10 to a first panel 26 or strap 22, 24 of the garment and securing the second component 12 to a second panel 26 or strap 22, 24 of the garment. The device may be made from a resin or hard plastics material. |
