A fast charging method, a power adapter and a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps: during the connection process of a power adapter (600, 1000) to a mobile terminal (700, 1100), the power adapter sends to the mobile terminal a clock signal by means of a first data line of a USB port, said clock signal being used for indicating communication timing (110) between the power adapter and the mobile terminal; controlled by the communication timing, the power adapter utilizes a second data line of the USB port for bidirectional communication with the mobile terminal to determine whether to use a fast-charging mode to charge the mobile terminal (120); the power adapter adjusts the charge current to a current corresponding to the fast-charging mode so as to charge the mobile terminal (130). The present method enhances the safety of fast-charging processes. |
