The particulate matter detection sensor 1 is configured so as to change the output of an electrical signal according to changes in the electrical characteristics between the pair of first detection electrodes 31 and pair of second detection electrodes 32 resulting from the accumulation of particulate matter on the first accumulation reception part 21 and second accumulation reception part 22.
