摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that can accurately calculate illuminance even when illumination fluctuates and that can appropriately control the luminous energy of a backlight. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has an array substrate 2 on which a driving circuit for display is formed, and has a predetermined display region. An optical sensor 12 measuring the illuminance of external light is mounted on the array substrate 2 as well as a filtering means (an adding circuit 75 and a circuit 76 outputting high-order bits) filtering a signal output from the optical sensor 12 and a processing circuit (an external LSI 10) processing the signal output from the optical sensor 12 are also provided.
