<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified pyrroloquinoline quinone-dependent glucose dehydrogenase (PQQGDH) with superior substrate specificity and stability. <P>SOLUTION: The modified pyrroloquinoline quinone-dependent glucose dehydrogenase (PQQGDH) having lower activity with respect to disaccharides and/or greater stability than wild-type PQQGDH are provided.
