<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the identification of the presence and function of a new extracellular protein in humans, and to provide a nucleic acid sequence encoding the protein. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the new extracellular protein (PRO polypeptide), especially the one having deleted or inactivated membrane-binding domain, and the nucleic acid molecule encoding the peptide.
