Provided is a metal air battery system, comprising a shell, an air diffusion electrode, a metal electrode, a first electrolyte solution containing an alkaline electrolyte, a second electrolyte solution containing an alkaline electrolyte and an electrolyte solution acceleration apparatus, wherein the electrolyte solution acceleration apparatus is used for accelerating the first electrolyte solution, so that the first electrolyte solution flows in an electrolyte solution channel. In the metal air battery system provided in the present invention, a dual-phase electrolyte solution is used, a first electrolyte solution and a metal electrode are separated via a second electrolyte solution, the first electrolyte solution and the second electrolyte solution respectively form electrolyte solution layers, and the two electrolyte solution layers are in contact to form an interface allowing ion transmission, thereby solving the problems in the prior art of a low battery utilization rate and a poor safety performance caused by self discharge of a metal electrode. The metal air battery system provided in the present invention is high in energy density, and is safe and reliable. Also provided is the use of the metal air battery system.
