An inside handle device for vehicles has: an operating handle connected in a rotationally operable manner to a handle base affixed to a door of a vehicle; and a torsion spring for pressing the operating handle toward an initial rotation position. The torsion spring is mounted in a wound state in which, as the coil section of the torsion spring moves, the coil section moves toward and away from the position where an arm section is engaged. The arm section is restrained in the direction of movement of the coil section and is engaged with a corresponding portion while being permitted to move in the opposite direction. |
