There is provided detection substrate (X6) comprising base material (16), light reflection film (26) superimposed on a surface of the base material (16), light transmission element (36) superimposed on the surface of the light reflection film (26) and analyte immobilization film (46) superimposed on the surface of the light transmission element (36). The light reflection film (26) is, for example, one including metal film (66), preferably one further including dielectric multilayer film (76).
