A rig for simple handling of honeycomb panels has a vertical strut with a hand operated winch (2) to operate a lifting frame (4, 6) which transfers comb panels in and out of a hive. The rig is supported on wheels and is braced by adjustable feet, to safely operate on uneven ground. The lifting frame is supported on a trolley which runs up the profiled vertical strut.
