PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch antenna that can be miniaturized while maintaining a circularly polarized wave characteristic, and a radio communication apparatus equipped with the patch antenna.SOLUTION: A patch antenna 110a of the invention operates as a circularly polarized wave antenna, and includes: a radiation element 111a provided along an upper surface of a dielectric substance 112a; a power feeding member 123a electrically connected with the radiation element; and a grounding conductor 113a provided along a lower surface of the dielectric substance. An upper surface of the radiation element has an undulation part that bends or curves a current path upward or downward. This allows the patch antenna to be miniaturized by changing the ratio of length and width of the outer shape of the antenna and can prevent deterioration in the circularly polarized wave characteristic of the patch antenna. |
