PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device mainly used for controlling turning ON/OFF of stop lamps of vehicles capable of precisely detecting and ensuring reliable operation.SOLUTION: The switching device has: a generally pillar-shaped magnet 12 which has a magnetic field formed in a vertical direction and is mounted on the inner bottom of a case 11. On the bottom of the magnet 12, generally triangular prismatic shaped ramp 12A is formed which protrudes in a direction of magnetic detection means 14 which are disposed being spaced by a predetermined distance and facing each other. Due to the ramp 12A of a generally triangular prismatic shape located at the bottom end of the magnet 12, the bottom area of the magnet 12 is largely formed. The density of magnetic flux of the magnet 12 detected by the magnetic detection means 14 largely changes even with a small operation amount of a brake pedal 20. Thus, precise detection and reliable operation are achieved. |
