PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a color image of high color reproducibility.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: an image sensor reading a first charge signal by a focal plane reading system in a first reading period that is a part of a first subframe period, reading a second charge signal by a focal plane reading system in a second reading period that is a part of a second subframe period, generating a first subframe image by the first charge signal, and generating a second subframe image by the second charge signal; an irradiation control unit for controlling to irradiate an imaging range with infrared light, in a first irradiation period that is all or a part of the periods excepting the first reading period in the first subframe period, and not to irradiate infrared light in a period other than the irradiation period; and a color image generation unit for generating a color image at a predetermined frame rate, on the basis of the first and second subframe images.
