PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that can suppress irregularity of intensity of light of each color.SOLUTION: A projector according to the present technology includes a pair of electrodes. The projector comprises: a solid state light source element that emits excitation light having a polarization surface along an array direction of the pair of electrodes; a support member that supports the solid state light source element so that the pair of electrodes is arrayed in a prescribed direction; a rotation substrate that transmits the excitation light; and a polarization conversion element that includes a plurality of transparent substrates arrayed in a direction different from the prescribed direction and non-orthogonal to the prescribed direction in an in-plane vertical to an incidence direction of transmission light transmitting the rotation substrate, and a ps-separation film provided between the plurality of transparent substrates and the polarization conversion element, and capable of separating a polarization component of the transmission light into a p-polarization component and s-polarization component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
