PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assist apparatus capable of more appropriately assisting a driver in driving.SOLUTION: A driving assist apparatus comprises: a steering grip detection unit detecting a grip state of a steering wheel by a hand of a driver; a proficiency determination unit integrating time or the number of times at which or by which the driver drives a vehicle by one hand for driving the vehicle while gripping the steering wheel by any of right and left hands, separately for each of the right and left hands of the driver, and determining that the hand for which the integrated time or the integrated number of times is longer or larger has high proficiency; an alarm output unit outputting an alarm to the driver; and a control unit that controls the alarm output unit to output the alarm to the driver more strongly or earlier when the driver operates the steering wheel by the hand determined to have lower proficiency by the proficiency determination unit than when the driver operates the steering wheel by the hand determined to have the higher proficiency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
