PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of accuracy of a medium interval even when a medium length and/or medium interval is changed in conducting a tip end reference control.SOLUTION: In selecting one sensor among paper sensors 51-54 in a tip end reference control, a CPU of a printer 1 selects the sensor which corresponds to a tip end 21x in a conveyance direction D of a tray 21 or a position closest to the tip end 21x on an upstream of a conveyance direction D than the tip end 21x out of positions 51y-54y separating by a distance equivalent to a sum (PL+PI) of a paper length PL and a paper interval PI on an upstream of the conveyance direction D along a conveyance passage from each of detection positions 51x-54x. A length of a predetermined time of the sensor selected like this in the tip end reference control becomes shortest among the paper sensors 51-54.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
