METHOD FOR REMOVING SULFUR COMPOUNDS INCLUDED IN LIQUID

Provided is a novel means that makes it possible to specifically remove sulfur compounds such as DMTS and other polysulfides from various liquids including beverages without causing a loss of components such as umami components, aromatic components, and the like. As a result of extensive study, the present inventors discovered that by using fine, nano-size or smaller particles of a late transition metal as an adsorbent, it is possible to adsorb and remove DMTS without casuing the loss of aromatic components such as isoamyl acetate, ethyl caproate, and the like, it is possible to use this adsorbent to adsorb and remove various sulfur compounds that are included in a beverage and that cause a sulfide-like off flavor without causing a loss in the umami or aromatic components of the beverage, and it is possible to adsorb and remove DMTS not only from water-based liquids but also from liquids of hydrophilic organic compounds.
