A compressor compresses fluid sucked in from the outside and discharges the compressed fluid. The compressor is provided with a cylinder (27), a rotor (26), a drive section (12), a compression section (11), and a valve mechanism (18). The cylinder has a cylindrical shape. The rotor is disposed within the cylinder. The drive section rotates and drives the rotor. The compression section rotates the rotor within the cylinder and causes fluid to be compressed by both the inner peripheral surface (37) of the cylinder and the outer peripheral surface (36) of the rotor. The valve mechanism is provided to the portion of the rotor not including the outer peripheral surface and sucks in fluid by means of negative pressure generated when the rotor rotates to separate the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and the outer peripheral surface of the rotor. |
