A uni-directional fastening system 8100) for use in clothing is disclosed comprising (i) at least one first planar surface structure having a first upper surface and a first lower surface, wherein the at least one first planar surface structure further comprises a plurality of substantially rectilinear first fibres (102A) that are uniformly arranged on the first upper surface at a predetermined angle with respect to the first upper surface. The system further comprises at least one second planar surface structure having a second upper surface and a second lower surface, wherein the at least one second planar surface structure further comprises a plurality of substantially rectilinear second fibres (102B) that are uniformly arranged on the second upper surface at the predetermined angle with respect to the second upper surface. Wherein, during use, the at least one first planar surface structure is arranged in close proximity to and facing the second planar surface structure, so as to allow the first (102A) and second fibres (102B) to matingly and releasably engage, when the first planar surface structure moves towards a predetermined direction with respect to the second planar surface structure. |
