The invention relates to a multifunctional piece of furniture comprising: a frame (1); and a soft rest element (2) supported by and/or housed in the frame (1) so that a user can rest in a seated or lying position. The invention also comprises: a tilting backrest (3) and tilting means (4) for selectively positioning the backrest (3) in at least two positions in relation to the frame (1). The backrest (3) includes: a chassis (5) rotatably connected to the frame (1); and at least one supporting element (6) connected to the chassis (5) so that a user (16) can rest at least one part of his/her body while seated or lying on the rest element (2). The incorporation of the backrest (3) and the tilting means (4) allows a user to use the multifunctional piece of furniture for multiple functions depending on whether the backrest (3) is in a stowed position or a deployed position. |
