<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a security device which is applicable to even an existing medical apparatus without changing its configuration and prevents third person's unauthorized use of a medical apparatus to prevent leakage of personal information like diagnostic data. <P>SOLUTION: A power unit 1a for medical apparatus is constituted which has a fingerprint data reader 2a, a switch 3a, and a relay 4a. An external power source 21 and a medical apparatus 22 are connected to the relay 4a. Only when fingerprint data read by the fingerprint data reader 2a coincides with preliminarily registered fingerprint data, the relay 4a is controlled to output power to the medical apparatus 22. The output of power is stopped by operating the switch 3a.
