<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such as (1) improvement of luminous energy (increase of luminance), (2) improvement of a heat radiation property and (3) reduction of difference of shading (luminance irregularity), in an edge light type backlight structure using LEDs for a light source. <P>SOLUTION: In this edge light type backlight structure using LEDs for a light source, side surfaces 11 and 12 of a light guide 10 are covered with reflective sheets 30 and 35 in a tightly fitted state by excluding parts of the LEDs 20 arranged on the side surfaces 11 and 12 of the light guide plate 10 at predetermined intervals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
