<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining flowers having a novel flower color imparted thereto. <P>SOLUTION: The protein comprising a specific amino acid sequence having a new acyltransferase activity, a gene comprising a specific base sequence encoding the same, and a method for producing a plant having the gene are disclosed. The gene encoding the protein having the new acyltransferase activity is introduced into a plant not having the gene, a plant not having the transferase, a plant not having the function of the transferase, or the like.
