PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a power-saved state of an image forming device and information related to the image forming device from a proxy answer device.

SOLUTION: A retrieval request for retrieving a device having information for the image forming device is transmitted to a network (S403). A retrieval answer to the retrieval request is received (S404). An information acquisition request for acquiring the information for the image forming device is transmitted to the proxy answer device (S410), and the information for the image forming device is acquired from the proxy answer device when the image forming device is in the power-saved state, and the proxy answer device can respond to (S411).
