PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM communications equipment, capable of securing transmission rate of significant information to be added, without lowering transmission efficiency of main data. SOLUTION: The ATM communication equipment is constituted, so that significant information is transmitted and received by using an AAL 5 trailer by providing a data inserting means (significant information mapping means) 141 for mapping the significant information except the main data in a display area between CPCS users of the AAL 5 trailer and a data extracting means (significant information extracting means) 152 for monitoring the display area between the CPCS users of the AAL 5 trailer, and to extract the significant information.
