PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article conveying apparatus capable of having a degree of freedom in layout of a conveyance path with more simple structure, on the branching/joining of the conveyance path.SOLUTION: A branching/joining part 5 includes: two outer running rails 70A, 70B, two inner running rails 71A, 71B; and a running switching mechanism 52. The running switching mechanism 52 includes a swinging arm 53 extending from the base point 91 of the two inner traveling rails 71A, 71B toward the two outer running rails 70A, 70B, and including the running surface for wheels 60 of a carriage unit 4 thereon, and a swinging part 50 configured to switch and connect the swinging arm 53 to the outer running rail 70A or 70B. The swinging part 50 is provided in a space sandwiched between the two enlarged inner running rails 71A and 71B. |
