PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device that a user who gets on a plane in an overseas exit area such as an airport has, the mobile terminal device being capable of limiting use of a radio communication unit; and the radio communication unit. SOLUTION: When the mobile terminal device 10 receives a transmission signal including a predetermined check signal indicating the airport area from a base station 60 covering the airport area, the mobile terminal device 10 enters an in-airport operation mode. Then when the mobile terminal device is put out of the zone to become unable to communicate with the base station 60, the mobile terminal device 10 judges that the user gets on the plane, and sends a power-OFF request signal to the radio communication unit 32 to power off the unit.
