PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary fixing member with which a satisfactory temperature uniformization effect and excellent durability are made compatible with each other. SOLUTION: An auxilliary roller 63 includes a metal base 631, a protective layer 632 laminated on the metal base 631, and a release layer 633 laminated on the protective layer 632 and is characterized in that the average surface roughness (Ra) of the protective layer 632 facing the release layer 633 is 0.05 to 3μm.
