1306790 Recovering zinc or cadmium catalyst CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED 19 April 1971 [9 Feb 1970] 20963/71 Heading C2C A method of recovering zinc and/or cadmium catalyst from a crude disproportionation product obtained by disproportionating potassium benzoate or by isomerizing potassium phthalate or isophthalate to form potassium terephthalate comprises extracting the crude product with a solution containing ammonia and carbon dioxide, separating the solid phase by filtering, freeing the separated filtrate from an excess of ammonia and carbon dioxide by desorption, treating the ammonia in carbon dioxide-free liquid with benzoic or benzene dicarboxylic acid, and evaporating the solution to dryness, to recover a salt of zinc and/or cadmium. |
