Lead salt stabilisers for rigid vinyl resins

Rigil vinyl halide resin of melting pt. 50-100 degrees C and viscosity at 100 degrees C of 3500 poises, stabilised by lead salts of mixed satd. aliphatic monocarboxylic acids, (C8-14). 25-100% b.wt. of acids consists of a straight chain C8-10 acid; 0-75% consists of acids up to 10% 2-ethylhexoic, up to 75% lauric, up to 30% myristic or any combination. The salts can be coformed with alkaline eart salts, pref. calcium.
