1312465 Graft polymer/polyphenylene oxide resin compositions SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 30 Sept 1970 [1 Oct 1969 6 Dec 1969] 46616/70 Headings C3G and C3R A composition comprises a polyphenylene oxide resin and less than 30% by weight of a graft polymer comprising an ethylene/alphaolefine hydrocarbon polyene terpolymer having grafted thereon from 3 to 90% by weight of the graft polymer of a styrene monomer, said terpolymer being present in an amount of 0À5 to 15% based on the weight of the composition. The terpolymer may have been halogenated before being grafted. In the examples, poly-2,6- dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide is blended with (a) an ethylene-propylene-dicyclopentadiene terpolymer grafted with styrene and optionally containing homopolystyrene or grafted with p-methyl styrene or (b) an ethylene-propyleneethylidene norbornene terpolymer grafted with styrene or a mixture of styrene, alpha, m-dimethylstyrene and alpha, p-dimethylstyrene.
