<p>1322104 Tool changing apparatus HEYLIGENSTAEDT & COMP WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970] 24900/71 Headings B3B and B3T Apparatus for facilitating automatic tool changing on a machine tool includes a supply magazine 10 with adjacent coded storage positions 18, and transfer means 19 being operative, during one working cycle of the machine tool, to arrange in the coded storage positions tools required during the succeeding cycle. The tools 6 are coded for recognition by a sensing device 16 of the magazine 10. Signals from the device 16 are compared with means which are programmed with the tools required for the second cycle. All the tools 6 are provided in duplicate to allow for the use of one type of tool in both cycles. (Alternatively, where only one tool of each type can be provided, these can be electronically registered to allow re-use in the second cycle). In a modifecation (Fig. 3, not shown) the supply magazine includes a triangular array of three chains providing the storage positions. When tool-changing is to be effected, the transfer means 19 operates to transfer tools between the supply magazine 10 and the sliding magazine 3 of the machine and vice versa. The machine tool, which may be a numericallycontrolled lathe 2, comprises a tool changer 7 for transferring tools between its magazine 3 and a tool holder 5.</p> |
