Narrow stretch fabric prodn - stretch, non-stretch fabric sections have different weft counts on elastic warp

A narrow fabric e.g. for brassiere straps has elastic sections and inelastic sections (or sections of reduced elasticity) having a higher weft count, on an elastic warp. A loom producing such fabrics has its fabric-forwarding roll driven at different speeds relative to the weft insertion rate, so that the inelastic sections have such a weft count that the extended elastic warp cannot contract.
