Wax modes for casting are produced by extruding wax into a mould, the wax billet having the same dia. in the plastic condition as the mould opening and at least the same volume as the mould. The billet is placed coaxially in front of the mould opening prior to extruding. Billets are continuously produced by extruding from a molten reservoir and metering the quantity of extrude using blades.
