1317380 Cooling biscuits SOLLICH oHG 17 Dec 1971 [27 March 1971] 58705/71 Heading F4H Biscuits and like confectionary 8 are cooled on a conveyer belt 4 in the horizontal longer leg 1 of an inverted L-shaped tunnel which has at least one evaporator 10 co-operating with a compressor (not shown) of a refrigeration system in the vertical shorter leg 2 of the tunnel. At least one fan 12 is associated with each evaporator to direct air downwardly therethrough for cooling and transversely of the conveyer belt which fan or fans is arranged in the intersection of the two legs. The empty return leg of the conveyer passes outside the tunnel below the longer leg 2. The conveyer is accessible through pivotable hoods 20 and the walls are both removable and thermally insulated. Condensed moisture from the or each evaporator is removed through the V- shaped lower end of the shorter leg 2.
