1344974 Thermal regenerators SIMONCARVES Ltd 9 Oct 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 46452/72 Heading F4K A regenerator brick intended for use in a horizontal coke oven regenerator is of generally rectangular outline with groups of vertical passages 20, 21, 22 of elongate cross-section extending through the brick from the upper to the lower face thereof. The passages are defined by outer longitudinal walls 17 and 18, outer transverse walls 26 and 27, inner longitudinal ribs 19 and inner transverse ribs 23 and 24. The ribs 19, 23 and 24 and transverse walls 26 and 27 provide a recess at one end and a projection at the other end of each brick, whereby a plurality of bricks can be interfittingly stacked one above the other to define unrestricted vertical flow passages throughout the height of the regenerator without the occurrence of ledges upon which dust may be deposited. |
