Each disc 1 includes slots 3 for beater bars 4. Beams 5 are welded to the discs. Each beam includes a rib which engages a corresponding groove 7 in a beater bar 4. Each corner 8 of the slots at the leading side of the beater bars is protected by a U-shaped cap 9. Each cap comprises arms 10, 11 joined by a web 13. The web is slightly thicker than the height of the rib 6. This permits removal of the beater bar when the cap has been taken off. Each cap is closed on one side by a bored plate 15 and recessed for a screw 17. The disc itself includes threaded bores to receive the screws for fastening the caps in place. |
