<p>An apparatus for cutting cylindrical rods into shorter predetermined lengths, each rod being passed a predetermined number of times past a cutting blade and moved axially against an end stop between each successive cut. Each rod is supplied from a hopper by a grooved rotating feed drum to a grooved rotating cutting drum and the number of grooves in each drum and the relative rotational speed ratios of the drums can be varied in order to modify the number of sections into which each rod can be divided by successive passes of the cutting blade.</p> |
