The groves on the cylinder inner casing extend in the transport direction aiding the conveyance of the material and are directed in a spiral running countercurrent to the scroll pitch. Pref. the grooves have a helix angle lying in a region between 90 degrees to the scroll helix angle and a larger angle of 180 degrees reduced by twice the helix angle of the scroll.
