1386943 Smoking compositions CELANESE CORP 25 Jan 1973 [9 Feb 1972] 3771/ 73 Heading A2C A smoking composition comprises a dry process reconstituted tobacco and/or a tobacco substitute and contains from 0.1 to 5.0% by weight of said smoking composition of a material selected from proteins and protein hydrolysates, at least 80% of the weight of which material is derived from aliphatic and heterocyclic amino acids. Preferably less than 10% by weight of said material is derived from sulphur-containing amino acids. Suitable proteins are egg albumen, gelatin, collagen, soybean protein, casein, zein and gliadin. A number of suitable known synthetic tobacco substitutes are specified.
