In the prodn. of photographic images, the process comprises: (1) selective exposure of the photosensitive layer, contg. sensitisier(s) of the selenazole ring-contg cyanine dye series, a cpd. of the guanidine or biguanide series and an image-forming reducing agent of the acylacetonitrile class, which can be transferred to a receptive layer at 80-200 degrees C, the exposed parts of the reducing agent being converted to a non-transferable cpd. (2) contacting the exposed photosensitive layer with a receptive layer contg. cpds which react with the reducing agent transferred from the unexposed posns. to form coloured prods; and (3) heating the layers in contact to 80-200 degrees C to produce a visible image. The dry process gives good quality images.
