1416519 Frameworks J O ADLER 3 Nov 1972 [16 Nov 1971] 53210/71 Heading E1K [Also in Division F2] A framework comprises straight steel sections 2, 8 having square-cut ends interconnected by joint pieces 9 of a higher strength steel, the joint pieces being bolted to the sections by high strength friction grip bolts. The bolts may be of the type referred to in various British Standards or of the type comprising a bolt having a grooved shaft which is pulled through aligned holes in the joint pieces and sections before swaging a collar over the grooves. A T-joint between sections 8 and 14 is formed by a plate 17 having a tube 18 welded to one end and having angle pieces 19 bolted to the tube so as to grip a flange on the section 8. |
