The capsule fill may be liquid and contain a non-aqueous liquid such as a glycol, a polyethylene glycol or glycerol and, optionally, a viscosity builder such as fumed silica, silica, silicic acid, methyl cellulose, a hydroxyalkyl cellulose or an alkaline earth metal silicate, or it may be a solid, e.g. a gelatin matrix through which the chloral hydrate and buffer are distributed. |
