<p>A soluble oligomer pre-condensate of aromatic polycarboxylic acids with diamines and/or diols contg. >=2 pri. amine groups is mixed with an aromatic or cycloaliphatic hexacarboxylic acid contg. >=2 adjacent carboxyl groups, their partial anhydrides or esters. The resultant products have long storage life but are converted by heating into imide grp.-contg. hard materials with high temp. resistance and are suitable for use as coatings or impregnants or for prodn. of shaped articles.
