1,256,454. Re-enriching deuterium-depleted hydrogen. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. 22 April, 1970 [23 April, 1969], No. 19271/70. Heading C1A. D 2 -Depleted gaseous H 2 is re-enriched by isotope exchange with liquid water in the presence of a water-soluble base having a vapour pressure higher than that of water as a catalyst, recovering the catalyst from the liquid phase and recycling the recovered catalyst. D 2 -Depleted H 2 may be formed in producing deuterated products, such as heavy water. The base may be ammonia, monomethylamine, dimethylamine, trimethylamine, monoethylamine or diethylamine. The base may be re-enriched by isotope exchange with liquid water during recycling.
|
