Diamonds coated with metal - with improved adhesion of coating

Method of coating diamond particles with metal comprises applying an alloy comprising a major part of a first metal and a minor part of a carbide forming metal and heat treating the coated particles at a temp of between 500 degrees C and just below (50 degrees C below) the melting point of the alloy in a non-oxidising atmosphere for long enough to permit formation of a liaison between the metal and the diamond surface. Improved abrasive props are obtd.
