<p>A press mould for producing large flat panels (up to 1.5 m2) from synthetic granular material includes a hopper for the granular material and movable (e.g. by a ram) from an inoperative position to an operative position above a mould. The complete bottom of the hopper can be opened e.g. by removing a slidable bottom wall to discharge the granular material into the mould in which it is compressed by pref. a ram-operated presser plate having pref. limit switches to control the degree of compression. Pref. the hopper is provided with a rotating paddle to prevent formation of agglomerates, and pref. the mould comprises a frame on a base plate, the frame being movable (pref. by a ram) away from the plate to allow discharge of the compressed panel.</p> |
